Escapades from Le Vieux Castel, for everyone, nature, heritage, culture

The Parc Naturel du Verdon is unspoilt, spectacular and authentic, and there are many motorized and non-motorized escapades departing from Le Vieux Castel. For sure, you won't see everything in one stay.

You'll find lots of information on the Verdon Tourisme website, either on the home page or on this selection page, where you can download maps. As far as we're concerned, we'll be happy to recommend a few must-do walks, or some more original ones to avoid the crowds. We'll be happy to advise you on the best nature spots nearby. Picnic equipment is provided. Guides and maps are also available in the entrance hall.

The Blanc-Martel trail

It's a must-see in the Gorges du Verdon, because it's spectacular yet accessible to all hikers. As it's listed in all the travel guides, it can get a bit crowded in high season. We advise you to do it in spring, when the Verdon is at its most turbulent.

Belvedere of Rancoumas

At the start It's a good alternative to the Blanc-Martel trail in high summer because it's much less busy, it's shaded because it's in the undergrowth for a good part of the hike and, as it's a loop, it doesn't suffer from the logistical problems of the Blanc-Martel trail.
